Markku Viitasaari
PhD (Education), Phil.lic. (musicology) Markku Viitasaari (b.1966) is a large-scaled professional of music, culture, education and administration. The title of his doctoral thesis was "How to deal with syntonic comma in music education" (University of Oulu Graduate School, 2020).
Markku Viitasaari has composed mainly for wind ensembles and choirs. His catalogue consists of over 300 works (incl. arrangements) around four decades from the 1980´s to present. He has achieved 24 quotations in composition contests, two of them in US.
Viitasaari's works have been published by Edition Blosari, Edition 7, The Finnish Wind Band Association, STM-music, and SULASOL.
