Notturno urbano
Description
Notturno urbano was composed in 1996. "An urban nocturne": the additional attribute to the generic title claims its place, since my composition hardly consists of any dreamy or mysterious sentiment, but rather resounds with urban night life. However, in the slow part of the work one can imagine hearing the song of a nocturnal bird. (The blackbirds sing every summer in the very center of Helsinki.) The composition consists of four sections; the last presents the theme, on whose motives the first three are based.
Notturno urbano was commissioned by and premiered at the Tampere Biennale 1996, a festival focused on new Finnish music.

Sävellyksessä on neljä taitetta. Näistä viimeinen on teema, jonka aiheille kolme ensimmäistä perustuvat.
