Fryd also exists as a second version for hammered dulcimer, viola and choreography for one dancer (Elias Girod) or 3 dancers (Veronika Lindberg, Justus Pienmunne, Minna Karttunen and Satu Rinnetmäki).

Premiere

The original version of Fryd for clarinet and cello was commissioned by the Internationale Stichting Materclass in Apeldoorn for performance during their 2012 masterclasses. The commission came about receiving the 3rd prize at the Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn with Lauri's work 'Harang - an intrusive sermon'.The piece was premiered by masterclass attendants Iris Zerdoud (FR), clarinet and Paula Cuesta Redondo (ES), cello at Schouwburg Orpheus Hanoszaal on 29.8.2012 in Apeldoorn (NL).The revised version was recorded by Fàtima Boix Cantó, clarinet and Laura Martin, cello at YLE M2 Studios in Helsinki on 17.4.2015.
